Sometimes, we just need a break. So that we do not lose our sanity, if it has not left already. Sometimes, we just need to take a break from worrying about the uncontrollable. For me, I can hear the Lord’s voice the loudest when I am taking a breather. Even when everything is crumbling and not going as I planned. I currently have an apartment with two great roommates. It is adjacent to a little lake. This lake has a walking track, areas to canoe, ducks, little bridges, and some benches around it. When I come home, I will sometimes go and sit on a bench, just to decompress from the day. Recently, I have done my quiet times outside by the lake, due to how peaceful it is. I associate calmness with water, kind of how people relax while at the beach. That is how I like to relax. But, what if we could relax anywhere? What if we focused on Jesus and could relax during any situation?
Not only did the Lord tear the Holy of Holy curtain due to Jesus taking our sins upon Himself. But, He tore it because anyone could then communicate with God. Not just the High Priest, but anyone could pray, talk, and communicate with God. If you really think about it, we pray/talk to the creator of the world, and He speaks back to us. How amazing is that?! The one who holds our future talks to us! The One who raised the Red Sea, the very one who controls the world, we can speak to Him whenever we want to. The Prince of Peace is always with us. If we focused on Him and His Word when we are stressed, how different would it be? Next time you are stressed or are freaking out about something, take a moment and just breathe. Pray and ask for wisdom for the situation, and ask for the peace and love that transcends all understanding to come into the situation. Ask and you shall receive. If you never ask, you will never know.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7
