The Holidays can bring so much joy, but they can also bring along grief and pain. Maybe it’s a lingering reminder of the past, a dark valley, the first holiday without a loved one, or a difficult relative. Maybe you are watching a loved one battle Alzheimers or dealing with a broken relationship.
Regardless of our temporary circumstances on earth, we should be rejoicing and clinging to the fact that the truths of the gospel are unchaining, they are our unwavering hope.
No matter what this holiday season looks like or feels like for you, God’s steadfast love never ceases. His mercies never come to an end and His faithfulness is VERY great. He is our portion, we must look to him (in all circumstances) and hope in Him.
My soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is, so I say, “My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the Lord…” But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:17-24
