Christmas reveals so much of the greatness of God: His power to fulfill His promises; His love for His people; and His mercy and grace toward sinners to reconcile them to a holy God, etc.
But the attribute of God chiefly on display at Christmas is His great humility. The Lord Jesus, “being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself.” – Philippians 2:7-8
At Christmas, King Jesus didn’t come to destroy and subjugate His enemies. Instead, He took on the very nature of His enemies to identify with them. He humbly condescended to turn His enemies into friends.
No other religion has such a humble God. But our God’s humility is His glory.
Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:29
“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:28
